I talk to you through mark making, brush strokes and line drawing.
“I decontextualise. Take matter apart and then I put it back together again.

I like to look at the spaces in between the visual obvious, the negative space, where a whole other is revealed is what resonates with me. In every subject there is more than obviously presented to the eye. Looking past the obvious, close observation and engagement of the subject is my process.

The challenge is to see beyond the distraction of the conspicuous and to capture its unique self. The line and form activates into layers of options when it meets light. Some of my subjects are quite obscure, some beautiful, others less so.  My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover obscurity in unusual places.
